A statue of San Gennaro, created by Lello Esposito, was exhibited in the courtyard of the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, Naples, 13 january 2011. The statue, a bronze bust of San Gennaro, is intended to recall the vote of the city signed by the Neapolitans 485 years ago. On 13 January 1527 was in fact signed a singular act by which the Neapolitan undertook to build a new chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples, if he did end the war, pestilence and volcain Vesuvius eruptions that were devastating the city’by 1526.
