Sono state finalmente pubblicate le nomination per gli Emmy Awards 2024. In testa abbiamo l’epopea di FX, Shōgun, con ben 25 candidature, un ottimo risultato per la prima stagione dell’apprezzato dramma ambientato in Giappone. Segue poi la serie comedy The Bear che ha ottenuto 23 nomination per la sua seconda stagione, dopo aver vinto 6 Emmy l’anno scorso. In terza posizione per numero di nomination abbiamo Only Murders in the Building, una sitcom più tradizionale che ha ottenuto 21 candidature con la sua ultima stagiona ricca di star: i tre attori principali (Steve Martin, Martin Short e Selena Gomez) sono stati tutti candidati in aggiunta a due grandi nomi che si sono uniti alla terza stagione, Paul Rudd e Meyl Streep.
In quarta posizione per questi Emmy 2024 c’è True Detective: Night Country con 19 candidature diventando così il progetto con più nomination nella categoria delle serie limitate o antologiche. Per quest’edizione inoltre ci sono alcune smentite e altrettante sorprese tra cui l’ottimo risultato di The Morning Show, un successo di Apple TV+. Invece un progetto stellare della HBO, The Curse con Nathan Fielder e Emma Stone, è stato ignorato dall’Accademia televisiva non ottenendo nemmeno una nomination.
Alcuni attori premiati agli Emmy 2024
Tra le attrici candidate c’è anche la leggendaria attrice e comica Carol Burnett che a 91 anni entra nella storia degli Emmy come l’attrice più anziana a ricevere una nomination per la sua interpretazione in una comedy ossia Palm Royale di Apple TV+. Se ottenesse il premio, sarebbe l’attrice più anziana a vincere in qualunque categoria, battendo il record della defunta Betty White che fu premiata all’età di 88 anni. Altro primato è quello di Nava Mau, star della miniserie di Netflix Baby Reindeer, nominata come attrice non protagonista in una miniserie, serie antologica o film tv. La Mau è la prima candidata trans latina in questa categoria. Inoltre gli Emmy 2024 onorano il compianto Treat Williams con una nomination postuma per la sua ultima interpretazione in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans come miglior attore non protagonista in una miniserie, serie antologica o film tv.
Serie tv e videogiochi
Altra serie di successo di questi Emmy 2024 è Fallout, adattamento dell’omonima opera di Bethesda. Con le sue 16 nomination, conferma il successo riscontrato l’anno scorso con The Last of Us (23 nomination) delle serie tv basate sui videogiochi. Fallout è stato candidato tra l’altro anche a miglior drama, la più prestigiosa delle categorie. Potrebbe inoltre vincere per la migliore sceneggiatura per un drama, grazie al lavoro di Geneva Robertson-Dworet e Graham Wagner nel primo episodio della serie.
